You will serve as a Program Support Assistant for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Disaster Assistance (ODA) at the Processing and Disbursement Center - PDC in Fort Worth, Texas. This position provides support functions all related to providing disaster assistance to homeowners, renters and businesses seeking funds for repair, rehabilitation or replacement of disaster damaged personal, real or business property.
PDC is conveniently located near the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and DART/TRE Station.
Additional selections may be made from this announcement if identical vacancies occur within 180 days from the closing date.
Duties
As a Program Support Assistant at the GS-0303-6/7, some of your typical work assignments may include:
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Preparing and distributing daily and weekly reports, maintaining time and attendance records, establishing and maintaining logs and files, and receiving phone calls.
- Reviewing outgoing correspondence to assure correct format, typographical accuracy, and conformance with procedural requirements.
- Receiving/screening department mail and managing all correspondence and administrative work flow in the department manager's office while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Inputting information into a database, troubleshooting inputting errors, and retrieving data as requested.
- Using Microsoft Office computer programs to produce a variety of documents and present information in a tabular format.
- Communicating clearly and effectively to accomplish duties assigned.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- If selected, your work schedule will be full time seasonal. Depending upon the level of disaster activity, you may be placed in a non-pay status if there is insufficient work. However, the work of this position will likely require you to work full-time most of the year.
- The Term Appointment does not confer competitive status, or reinstatement rights, on the individual selected. You may be promoted or reassigned to another Term position within SBA's Office of Disaster assistance; however, you may not be appointed non-competitively to another Federal position. You will initially be given a Term Appointment exceeding one year. If all other conditions of employment are met, this appointment may be extended, in increments, up to a total of four (4) years.
- If required to travel to a disaster site, you may encounter hazardous working and/or living conditions, for example, no water or electricity and/or minimal lodging facilities.
- A valid driver's license may be required.
