About the Agency
This position is located in the Department of Justice, Debt Collection Management Staff, Nationwide Central Intake Facility. The Debt Collection Management Staff (DCM) provides the operational, litigation support, policy and client support services, training, and reporting needed to facilitate the collection of debts owed to the United States Government. The DCM advises the Controller and other Department of Justice officials on financial, legal, administrative, policy issues associated with the formulation, development, and execution of programs required to fulfill the Department's debt collection responsibilities.

Duties
- Document strategies for long- and short-range debt collection program planning efforts
- Review program operations and special projects to determine training needs
- Revise program operations for consistency with strategies and program emphasis
- Conduct research on administrative and debt collection management program issues
- Collect, organize, and compile data and materials for management officials
- Analyze collected data and reconcile conflicting data
- Develop new or modified methods to improve program effectiveness and efficiency
- Apply policies and procedures related to administrative and debt collection management programs and operations
- Prepare reports, written analysis, correspondence, memoranda or other documents related to program activities
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders in government and private industry
- Plan and conduct meetings, briefings and other activities in support of office programs
- Coordinate the development and release of information such as fact sheets, newsletters, and other briefing materials
- Provide guidance and advice on debt collection management policies, procedures and requirements
