The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) is the largest healthcare system within the Department of Veterans Affairs. It is one component of the VA Desert Pacific Healthcare Network (VISN22) offering services to Veterans residing in Southern California and Southern Nevada. VAGLAHS consists of three ambulatory care centers, a tertiary care facility and 10 community based outpatient clinics. VAGLAHS serves Veterans residing throughout five counties: Los Angeles, Ventura, Kern, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo. There are 1.4 million Veterans in the VAGLAHS service area. Duties

This position is located in the Health Information Management (HIM) section at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System responsible for the supervision, administrative management, and direction of ROI staff and full supervisory responsibility over a section or equivalent work unit. Major duties including but not limited to:
  • Providing effective audits and monitoring for all areas of responsibility;
  • Reviewing work accomplished and assessing quality, quantity, accuracy and timeliness of work produced by employees;
  • Ascertaining problems encountered and taking corrective action;
  • Developing performance standards and conducting performance evaluations;
  • Preparing and submitting functional statements for new positions, clarifications or updates;
  • Ensuring release of information activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of adherence to privacy policies and procedures are performed and coordinated in compliance with applicable federal laws and regulations;
  • Ensuring record retrieval and record transfers are timely; and
  • Monitoring workload and production of staff.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
