About the Agency

The selectee for this position will serve as a Program Support Assistant (OA) for Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).

Vacancies filled from this announcement may be filled at GS-5, GS-06 grade level as listed.

This position has promotion potential to the GS-07 grade. If selected below the full performance level, incumbent may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Duties

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:?

• Receive and review all incoming correspondence and prepares replies to general inquiries to meet command needs.
• Create, maintain and, archive files in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures and in accordance with Privacy Act Requirements.
• Create or maintain a database to track information (e.g., vehicle information, accident reports, contract information, cellular phones, pagers, blackberries).
• Generate reports to obtain or provide information related to organizational, administrative, or procedural matters.
• Review and edit travel data utilizing Defense Travel System (DTS) for managers, supervisors, and their staff.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.

GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing administrative support to include teamwork, customer service, personnel support, data processing, records management, and travel management.

GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: preparing administrative reports using automated software, assisting in processing travel arrangements/claims, teamwork, personal initiative, customer service, providing personnel administration, data processing and file maintenance OR successfully completed four years of education above high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite OR have a combination of specialized experience as described above and education that equates to one year of experience. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement for GS-05 grade level equivalency. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Your percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal 100 percent.
