This vacancy is for an Office Automation Technician position in the New York Regional Office located in New York, New York.

This is a Term Appointment, initial appointment is not to exceed (NTE) 2 years. This appointment may be extended 2 additional years at management’s discretion.

The work schedule for this position is Mixed Tour. With a Mixed Tour work schedule, an employee may be changed between full-time, part-time and intermittent work schedules to accommodate fluctuating workloads and is subject to a signed agreement.

Relocation expenses will not be paid.

A trial period may be required.

Duties

The individual selected for this position will:
  • Provide technical support and assistance to the Regional Office Computer Specialist for office automation and laptop activities.
  • Develop methods for automating administrative and program reports.
  • Set up procedures to enter and to retrieve the data.
  • Ensure that proper software has been installed and is ready for shipment to the field representatives.
  • Establish, reset, and delete passwords.
  • Select the most appropriate software for automating office work based on the nature of the work and the characteristics of available software types.
  • Provide instructions for other employees on the methods and procedures for using the selected software.
  • Act as the point of contact for laptop hardware, software, and telecommunications problems.
