The position is located in the Directorate of Industrial Operations, RCV and Power Generation Division, Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.

Duties
Receives, reviews, and reads all incoming mail and routes to supervisor or other action officers. Maintains and records correspondence requiring written replies, publishes suspense listing and ensures deadlines are met. Composes and types correspondence, such as letters, endorsements, memorandums, reports, etc from available information, rough drafts, and verbal instructions. Maintains supervisor calendar. Tracks and monitors suspense reports within the division.
Position requires a background security investigation.
Must be a Qualified Typist of at least 40 words per minute.
Moving/relocation expenses are not authorized.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as one year of experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves reviewing correspondence for quality, arranging meetings and conferences, providing training for administrative staff, and experience in computer software.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
Knowledge of Office Administrative Procedures
Knowledge of Personnel Programs
Skill in the use of Automated Systems and Computer Software
Ability to Communicate Effectively
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct Deposit of Pay is Required.
Term appointment not to exceed 13 months but may be extended up to 6 years.
This is a contingent (TERM) appointment, NTE (not to exceed) 13 months. Individuals selected for this term position may be eligible for conversion to career-conditional appointment or career appointment at a later date. To be converted, the employee must (1) have been selected for the contingent position under competitive procedures, (2) must have served 2 years of substantially continuous service in the contingent appointment, (3) be selected under merit promotion procedures for the permanent position, and (4) have a current rating of "B" or better.
