Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for handling difficult and complex debt collection claims referred to the U.S. Attorney's Office.Typical work assignments will include:
- Reviewing and analyzing claims for legal merit and compliance with the Federal Debt Collection Procedures Act;Obtaining and analyzing financial information;
- Initiating enforcement tools such as garnishments and writs of executions;
- Opening and maintaining debtor files;
- Examining, preparing and processing a variety of technical legal documents, e.g., complaints, motions, orders, answers, pleadings, and subpoenas;
- Preparing and presenting statistical data and reports; and
- Producing a variety of written documents and material using a wide range of office software applications.

- Occasional travel for training.
