The Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS) is recruiting for Housekeeping Aides to serve as members of the Environmental Management Service (EMS). The Housekeeping Aide position performs a full range of cleaning and sanitation work through-out the hospital, under the general supervision of the Housekeeping Aide Foreman, who schedules assignments and spot checks work for compliance with quality and performance standards. As a key member of the hospital housekeeping staff, you will be an integral member of a team devoted to providing the best possible care to our nation's veterans.

Duties


The Housekeeping Aide performs a full range of cleaning and sanitation work through-out the hospital, following general instructions on work to be done.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Wall washing
· Interior and exterior window cleaning
· Room cleaning
· Floor care (dusting, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming)
· Cleaning fans, blinds, shades, screens, mirrors, doors, and partitions
· Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, toilet bowls, urinals, showers, tubs, elevators, stairwells, entrances, lobbies, porches, and hallways
· Dusting furnishings in administrative and non-housekeeping areas
· Emptying waste and recycling receptacles
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3rd Shift Nights 11:00 pm to 07:30 am

Probationary Period:  A one-year probationary period may be required
