• Calibrate, operate, and clean a variety of audiometric equipment.
• Review, update, and file patient medical records.
• Perform a variety of hearing tests on patients, including soldiers that require fitting for earplugs.
• Counsel patients on test procedures, test results, and any further medical examinations required.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work providing audiology care to obtain and update patient's case histories; using audiometric testing equipment, instruments, supplies, audiometer calibration, and Hearing Conservation computerized databases; recommending follow-up hearing tests and/or referring for audiology and medical care. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

• Technology and Informatics
