This position is located at DFMWR/NAF Support Division, Fort Polk, LA.

Duties

• Actively participates in the management of the activity or organization by performing a wide variety of clerical and administrative support duties.
• Serves as the central point of contact for matters related to day-to-day operations.
• Applies knowledge of the organization, its functions and regulations to carryout a wide variety of administrative functions related to the organization and its mission (e.g., personnel, accounting, budget, purchasing, logistics and supply, transportation, security, etc).
• Exercises independent judgement.
• Composes operating procedures and sets internal priorities to generate improvements in administrative services.
• An extensive knowledge of rules, operations, and practices, and judgment in locating and selecting the most appropriate guidelines is required.
• Performs other duties related to office automation requiring a skill in general office machines, software, and the internet/intranet.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
Work experience directly related to the duties described above.
Ability to type 40 words per minute. *MUST indicate typing speed on resume*

HIGHLY PREFERRED:
1. Must possess experience using Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher, with a working knowledge of Adobe and other software for viewing documents.
2. Must possess experience reviewing and preparing documents of an administrative nature, both internal and external.
3. Must possess the ability to communicate, both orally and in writing. This includes the ability to communicate with all levels of command, other organizations, and with the public in daily duties.
4. Must possess the ability to collect and compile data with which to prepare a variety of statistical, training, and narrative reports.
5. Must possess organizational and time management skills.
