FLEET AND FAMILY READINESS
Commander, Navy Region Southeast Fleet and Family Readiness is responsible for policy development, resourcing, and oversight of quality of life programs for Navy Sailors and their families. FFR enables a ready Navy force by providing the following programs and support office functions:
  • Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR)
  • Navy Gateway Inns and Suites (NGIS)
  • Child and Youth Programs (CYP)
  • Fleet and Family Support Program
  • Family and Bachelor Housing
  • Galley Programs

The integration of programs within FFR is designed to optimize individual programs and their joint operations. The organization of these programs by functional specialty enables staff at all levels of the organization to be selected for their expertise in specific functional areas and enables programs to focus soley on the best delivery of services. Our business processes are continuously monitored for operational effectiveness to ensure our customers receive the highest quality of service.

Family Readiness includes the Fleet and Family Support Program and Emergency Response.
The Fleet and Family Support Program provides services through Fleet and Family Support Centers, such as relocation assistance, new parent support, deployment services, clinical counseling services, financial management counseling, family employment services, family advocacy and the transition assistance programs.
The Emergency Response Program manages Navy Installations Command’s response plans to provide assistance to the Navy Family during a disaster.
Fleet Readiness is comprised of Morale, Welfare and Recreation Programs, official and recreational lodging, and food and beverage operations. These services include:
 
Navy Housing manages housing Navywide, including permanent party family housing and unaccompanied housing. Focused on assisting Sailors, both single and those with families, receive suitable, affordable and safe housing wherever they are assigned.
The Support Services Center supports the other four divisions and regional Fleet and Family Readiness Service Centers through a consolidation of management support functions, such as NAF financial management, marketing, training, NAF human resources, facilities and acquisition, information technology, and management evaluation and assistance.
Navy Wounded Warrior – Safe Harbor coordinates the non-medical care of seriously wounded, ill and injured Sailors and Coast Guardsmen, and provides resources and support to their families and offers individually-tailored assistance to ensure enrollees’ successful recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration.

Duties


The primary purpose of this position is to provide a wide range of support and assistance that is in direct support of programs, administrative and management functions within the MWR Department. Additionally, the employee delivers information, referral and Guest Program services to customers visiting or calling the MWR Department.             
  • Serves as MWR Customer Service Desk Representative.
  • Greets visitors, receives telephone calls, and ascertains the nature of the visit or calls in a professional, respectful manner.
  • Refers telephone calls and visitors to appropriate staff or office based upon knowledge of the organization and its programs and operations. 
  • Answers substantive requests for information, which can be provided based on information from records and files or personal knowledge of services available.
  • Locates and selects appropriate references and procedures for application to specific questions.When unable to locate information or cannot answer questions, refers caller/visitor to a staff member.
  • Provides follow-up on requests for information.
  • Greets walk-in clients and provides assistance with completing necessary paperwork for the MWR Guest Pass program.
  • Maintains database with walk-ins, call-in client statistics and provides data for monthly, quarterly, etc., reports.
  • Maintains and inputs a statistical record of contacts into required data systems in a timely manner.
  • Locates appropriate experts in other offices/agencies to whom inquirers may be referred for supplemental assistance when all personal resources have been exhausted.
  • Responds appropriately to inquiries whether by telephone, fax, and e-mail, personal visit, or in writing.
  • Prepares a wide range of recurring and non-recurring correspondence, reports, statistical data, briefs, forms and other documents using a variety of office automation software and equipment.
  • Proofreads and edits materials prepared by self and other MWR staff to ensure correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and compliance with the Navy Correspondence Manual and Command policy.
  • Establishes and/or monitors suspense dates, updates correspondence log, prepares routing sheets, tracks items through the routing process, and upon signature, makes appropriate distribution.
  • Researches, collects and consolidates information for various reports in accordance with established procedures or as directed by the supervisor.
  • Retrieves data and generates statistical reports for in-house use or as required by higher authority.
  • Verifies report information to ensure data is accurate, complete and current.
  • Provides advice and guidance to other MWR staff on administrative policies and procedural requirements, and assists in solving problems where existing guidelines can be applied.
  • Picks up, delivers and distributes mail including but not limited to incoming and outgoing correspondence, publications, regulations, and directives.
  • Assists MWR staff with coordination of meetings, trainings, and inspections.Relays instructions and reminders from Department Head to managers and supervisors.
  • Establishes, maintains, purges, and disposes of files and client records in accordance with existing regulations and procedures.
  • Independently plans and performs complex office automation duties requiring different approaches and methods from one assignment to another, such as using different packages to:edit lengthy and complicated reports; collect, select, organize, and provide information; track the status of a number of projects assigned to the organization; and resolve incompatibility problems in transferring text from software package to another when menu options and specific software instructions are not available.
  • Uses word processing software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print forms, memos, and letters; uses database or spreadsheet software to create, enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for reports; and uses graphic software to provide graphs and charts for reports and presentations.
  • Prepares supply requisitions, monitors status of active requests, coordinates delivery and distribution of materials, and follows up on discrepancies.
  • Establishes and maintains files of requisitions and supporting documentation to ensure that all requested items are properly received and accounted for, and that all required follow-up actions are completed.
  • Maintains timekeeping records and files on MWR Managers using Kronos and SLCADA systems.
  •  Monitors inventory levels of office supplies, requisitions supplies and replenishes items as needed. 
  •  Arranges travel reservations, accommodations and government travel credit cards for all MWR Personnel and the Regional Facilities Maintenance Team.  Provides training on travel rules, regulations and forms to staff members. Prepares all travel related forms and disbursement to CNRSE Regional Business Office for approval and payments.
