The FMWRC mission is to create and maintain "FIRST CHOICE" MWR products and services for America's Army, essential to a ready, self-reliant force.
Located in the scenic Hudson River Valley, only 50 miles from New York City, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point is a four-year academic institution, a nationally-renowned historic site, and the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. West Point's 3,000 civilian employees have access to Eisenhower Hall Theatre, the Hudson Valley's premier performing arts center, and recreational facilities such as an 18-hole Golf Course
and Ski Slope.
The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is within a 30 mile radius of West Point, NY. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) Preference eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)
This position is located at Round Pond.
Duties
Instructing groups and individuals in a variety of outdoor recreation programs, such as but not limited to rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, challenge course.
Communicating to participants who have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds.
Teaching children as well as adults.
Responsible for group management and participants safety.
Providing information to customers.

Qualifications
1. Must have knowledge of and experience in a wide variety of Outdoor Recreation pursuits.
HIGHLY PREFERRED are those candidates that possess both the minimum qualifications above and:
Applicants pursuing a degree in Recreation Management, Outdoor Recreation, or a related field, and in the process of completing an internship or fieldwork program will be considered highly qualified.
PLEASE NOTE: Your resume must reflect the qualifications stated in the announcement and questionnaire to be rated eligible. You must also include the Highly Preferred criteria in your resume, if applicable.
**Applicants that meet the Minimum Qualifications & Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. All others will be referred if management does not make a selection from the Highly Preferred list**
Conditions of Employment:
1. If selected, a completed and signed copy of our job application form (DA Form 3433) is required prior to entrance on duty. (Click here to view form).
2. Must be available to work an irregular shift to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
3.Subject to satisfactory completion of all required background checks of AR 215-3, must be successfully completed and maintained to include the initiation/completion of Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI).
4.Must have or be able to obtain a current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED training certification.
5. Medical examination is required.
