Job Summary
Ensures an accurate accounting of all transactions, collections and disbursements. Reconciles checks, cash receipts and charge sales with total sales to verify accuracy of transactions at the end of the shift. It may include greeting guest, taking food and beverage orders and taking them to kitchen staff. Responsible for the smooth and efficient transaction of all money within Atlantis using the highest level of professionalism, integrity and courtesy. Totally accountable for assigned float and for the proper deposit of all funds collected on behalf of the Company during the shift.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Signs in/out log book and counts cash bank or float at beginning and end of work shift. Ensures an accurate count on count sheet provided.
Reports to station on time (under Surveillance or Security escort) to set up and take proper readings where applicable.
¿ Checks and sets up all working equipment and supplies necessary for proper shift operation prior to start of shift including (cash register, calculator, manual checks, credit card machines, credit cards, tapes, float etc).
Greets all guest in a courteous, respectful and professional manner displaying positive body language and excellent eye contact.
¿ Must be proficient in English and Mathematics with excellent critical thinking skills.
¿ Collects all cash, checks or charge payments from guests. Makes change for cash transactions, verifies information for checks and prepares charge voucher for credit card purchases. Settles all checks according to departmental control standards and procedures. Follows manual control procedures when and where computers are not available. Refers queried checks to Room Manager and Supervisor and collects void checks from Room Manager (signature must be included).
¿ Properly sorts and balances work before presenting to Supervisor for viewing/scrutiny. Settles all outstanding shortages and corrects all errors. Ensures gratuity is correctly and properly broken down and submitted with work for audit. Pay out extra tips to employees concerned per procedures.
Completes all documentation relating to the cashiering function including control, verification, tip and reconciliation sheets, deposit envelopes, float count sheet, and manual control sheets.
¿ Arrange for Surveillance/Security escort from all stations at all times, and takes proper readings before leaving station. Floats must be returned prior to any leave of absence and immediately upon suspension or termination.
Stays on assigned stations throughout service, observing and seeing to guest needs. Follow established company and departmental standard operation procedures.
Requirements
¿ High school diploma or equivalent vocational training
¿ Minimum of 1 year cashiering experience
¿ Strong mathematical skills
¿ Good communication skills
¿ Good command and understanding of the English Language
