Duties

The purpose of this position it to assist in all aspects of fitness, sports and administrative duties of the programs as needed. Assists in planning and implementing various programs designed to meet the fitness, sports or aquatic needs and interests of the fitness facilities. Sets up and monitors classes, demonstrations, training and special events for the fitness facilities. Assists in scheduling, coordinating, promoting and controlling fitness activities for the program of activities involved in the facilities. Conducts daily inspections of the fitness facilities to identify sanitation or maintenance problems. Provides input for budget preparation. Checks ID cards, updates bulletin boards, monitors training schedules and ensures security of the facilities at all times.    Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a CPR and First Aid certificate. Must successfully complete the National Agency Background Check. Position requires adequate level of physical exertion such as walking, bending, stooping and setting up for sporting events.
Must have a minimum one year of work experience which involved dealing with the general public and general knowledge of recreational fitness, sports or aquatic programs. Must be skilled in customer service.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
