The Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE), Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, Dilorenzo Clinic and the Joint Pathology Center, provide world class medical services to the nation's service members and their families.
Parking at WRNMMC is very limited and is primarily first come, first serve.The use of commuting alternatives is highly recommended. The Mass Transit Fringe Benefits (MTFB) are available to Federal Civilian employees. This is in addition to the current salary, up to $ 125 per month (subject to change), for the commuting costs using Mass Transit. MTFB can be applied to rail, bus and/or approved vanpools but not parking costs.
About the Position: Located in a fast paced dynamic office environment for Chief of Staff. One of the largest military treatment facilities in the Department of Defense with over 7,000 staff members. Incumbent will perform a variety of administrative and support type duties for the Department of Chief of Quality Patient Safety.

Duties
Performs a variety of administrative and support type duties in such areas as project management, technical reporting, timekeeping, security, travel, training, procurement, and files management. Receives calls and visitors, maintains calendar and appointments; arranges meetings and conferences for department staff. Responds to routine matters and forwards others on to appropriate staff. Works closely with the senior administrative staff and confirms supply funds availability with resource management. Ensures files are maintained properly and provides technical assistance to other administrative personnel. Project Management: provides a variety of administrative support duties for assigned programs, including but not limited to the following: preparing visual information for non-technical publications, briefings and presentations; reviews written materials and making modifications when necessary; uses office automation to accomplish clerical, statistical, patient safety reports, data quality reports, and data analysis tasks, keeps weekly print out of projects due and informs supervisor and staff of project status. Assists staff with trends and identification of improvement processes for patient safety programs. Assists with preparation of Joint Commission (JC) inspections and surveys. Establish internal program and ensure department is in compliance with JC (also state, local, federal, OSHA requirements). Advises staff on administrative personnel procedures such as performance appraisals, training, awards and hiring requests. Utilize a variety of office automation system, such as DTS, ATAAPS, audio-visual equipment, Microsoft office products. Will utilize basic medical terminology and abbreviations as they relate to patient safety reporting.
