This is a SUMMER 2017 internship position.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate for an exciting internship position within the Office of Energy Projects. The position is located in the New York Regional Office, and the incumbent will serve as a Civil Engineering Trainee.
At time of application, applicant must submit proof of current enrollment in a degree-seeking program. If selected, applicant must provide proof of continuing education through either the Summer or Fall 2017 semesters.
These positions are temporary, they may be converted to a full time, career-conditional position. Any conversions to full time or career-conditional status is neither implied nor guaranteed.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate for an exciting internship position within the Office of Energy Projects. The position is located in the New York Regional Office, and the incumbent will serve as a Civil Engineering Trainee.
The major duties of the position are:
- Assist a project engineer in performing safety and compliance inspections of the hydropower projects
- Assist a project engineer in performing one or more of the civil engineering analyses to assess the safety of civil structures associated with hydropower projects.
- Perform support duties such as making mathematical computations and developing chart and graphs, as needed.
