The selectee for this position serves as a Security Assistant in the  Security Team in the Resource Management/information technology Directorate, at SUPSHIP Bath (SOSB). The incumbent reports to the security officer and serves as the primary point of contact for the issuance of Common Access Cards (CAC) and the Naval Message system at SOSB).

Duties

As a Security Assistant, your duties may include, but not limited to:
·         Verifying the identity of the CAC card applicant prior to RAPIDS data entry.
·         Developing and maintaining customer appointment scheduling system.
·         Serving as the Command Messaging Administrator (CMA), responsible for managing the Naval.
·         Regional Enterprise Messaging System (NREMS).
·         Using the Real-time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS) workstation to issue CAC cards.

• Occasional Travel
• Travel dependent upon position description and availability of funding.

• Yes
• Relocation expenses (i.e. PCS) or relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5753 may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations, command policy and available command funding.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. FOR THE GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public
assisting with processing applications for Identification cards for an organization. OR 4 years above high school.

FOR THE GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector controlling visitor's access and provide customer service which includes operating computer software for a security program.

FOR THE GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector verifying eligibility and issuing Identification cards/badges for access to restricted or non-restricted areas for an organization.
