These positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Washington D.C.

Duties

The incumbent is responsible for providing a variety of general office clerical support duties. The work involves the practical use of electronic office systems. Typical types of software include word processing, electronic mail (email), graphics, database management, etc.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
  • Preparing and typing routine correspondence, letters, memoranda, and reports from rough drafts, oral or written instructions
  • Using a variety of software packages to prepare forms, spreadsheet, office graphics, and database management
  • Data entry
  • Maintaining files and reports
