This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Santa Ana National Disaster Loan Resolution Center located in Santa Ana, CA
The Loan Servicing Assistant supports the Liquidation team in handling problem accounts which require enforced collection measures or other actions within the scope of existing disaster authority consistent with the applicable laws, regulations and procedures in order to protect the interest of the government.

The Loan Servicing Assistant supports the Liquidation team in handling problem accounts which require enforced collection measures or other actions within the scope of existing disaster authority consistent with the applicable laws, regulations and procedures in order to protect the interest of the government.
Duties
- Assist Loan Specialist by carrying out some of the more progressive and complicated actions involved in servicing disaster loans.
- Services a selected portfolio of past due disaster loans, focusing on those over 30 days past due, by initiating collection letters and contacting borrowers by telephone.
- Initiate and recommend appropriate action including: charge off, deferment, due date change, extension of maturity, payment modification, return to servicing and referral to liquidation
- Respond to verbal and written requests from banks and borrowers and other financial institutions concerning payment of loans, interest rates, loan balances, terms conditions and other credit information.
