GK FOODS, a Division of GraceKennedy Limited, is seeking to recruit a HR Officer to join its team of HR Practitioners, with assigned responsibilities to Grace Food Processors (Canning), Dairy Industries (Jamaica) Ltd and National Processors Divisions. Reporting to the Human Resource Manager – Manufacturing, the successful candidate should possess the following:

Special Requirements and Key Competences
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ working experience in the field of Human Resources Development at a similar level
  • Working knowledge of HR Software Applications
  • Knowledge of Employment/Labour Laws
  • Knowledge of the Manufacturing sector and Food Safety Management Systems would be an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite of applications
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong ethical values and confidentiality
  • High level of initiative and reliability
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Principal Responsibilities
  • Support the recruitment and selection of high quality staff in collaboration with Business Unit Managers.
  • Provide support in implementing effective succession planning and training & development initiatives.
  • Provide support, guidance and counsel to employees on technical and career development activities.
  • Support the development and implementation of induction/orientation and reward & recognition programmes.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programmes and ensure all personnel related processing are effectively completed for employees.
  • HRMIS administration and payroll verification

DAIRY INDUSTRIES (JAMAICA) LTD an associate company of GRACEKENNEDY LTD invites suitably qualified applicants to fill the position of:            COST ACCOUNTANT

The incumbent reports to the Finance Manager and is responsible for the management of the Cost Accounting System.

Main Responsibilities

  • Establish and monitor cost accounting systems and procedures
  • Prepare monthly manufacturing reports including variance and ratio analysis between standard and actual production costs;
  • Analyse changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods to determine effects on costs;
  • Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs, policies and procedures for management of cost accounting standards and financial planning;
  • Manage inventories through physical counts and monitoring of cycle counts;
  • Assist with month end closure of the General Ledger.

Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Strong costing systems background, with excellent analytical skills and sound understanding of accounting principles
  • Knowledge of SAP will be an asset.
  • Proficient use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Audit and investigative skills and requirements of International Accounting Standards.
  • Working knowledge  of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems
  • Team oriented
  • ACCA Level 11, CIMA, or B.Sc. in Accounting
  • Five years’ work experience with at least two in Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Market intelligence gathering to make recommendations, based on the changing needs of the Retail Industry 

Ensure distribution and availability of products to the targeted customers
Proper management of receivables by operating at a point that minimizes risk while maximizing sales
Assess the performance of products and recommend sales and/or marketing programmes to increase consumer off take
A desire to build and maintain good customer relationships

ACADEMIC/ PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales or Marketing or equivalent
Three (3) years quota driven sales experience in consumer goods sales

Knowledge of SAP Software would be an asset

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Sound working knowledge of marketing and sales practices/principles
Excellent understanding of the retail trade
Strong oral and written communication and time management skills

Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills, with a good grasp of operational procedures, preferably in a FMCG market
Ability to work with minimal supervision and a high degree of accountability

Reporting to the Senior Credit and Reconciliation Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for achievement of targeted receivables ageing & collections inflow. Ensure prompt collection of Accounts Receivable and adherence to the Company’s Credit Policy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reconciliation of customer accounts on an on-going basis to eliminate or reduce discrepancies.
  • Assist with the collection function in order to improve the Company’s cash flow position
  • Assist with the management of accounts receivable in line with the company’s credit policy
  • Preparation of monthly Sales Representative collection incentives
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly bad debt provision schedule
  • Setting and tracking monthly and weekly collection targets
  • Be part of team to carry out monthly credit reviews
  • Printing and dispatching of fortnightly customer statements

ACADEMIC/ PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
