Customer Service Representative (Basseterre, St. Kitts) - Delisle Walwyn Group of Companies
Delisle Walwyn Group of Companies is seeking an experienced individual to fill the position of Customer Service Representative for their Tropical Shipping department. The successful candidate will perform a dual role of accounts clerk and customer service representative. The role demands ongoing direct contact with all customers/vendors. Your ability to work closely and cohesively with the team, provide prompt administrative and accounting services and remain motivated under pressure, will ensure that the customers’ expectations are met in a cost effective and efficient manner.
The ideal candidate will report to the Assistant Manager, Tropical Shipping (SKB).
The areas of responsibility include but are not limited to the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Answer telephones in a timely manner
• Meet and greet customers with a pleasant smile and positive attitude
• Assist with Accounts Receivables
• Assist with billing, collections and reconciliations
• Assist with the preparation of invoicing to all customers
• Review payables and ensure that all invoices are legitimate and prepare check payment voucher for payment in a timely manner
• Assist with the preparation of weekly Vessel Disbursement Accounts
• Assist with bi-weekly wire request remittance requests from Tropical Shipping
• Prepare remittances to Tropical on a weekly basis
• Assist with updating T-Link with freight payments and container releases
• Assist with the notification of all customers of their cargo arrival by Thursday of each week
• Assist with the preparation of LCL Workplan on Tuesday of each week and source all outstanding invoices for customer shipments
• Assist with all exporting activities
• Submit the weekly Power PBI to Management
• Assist with the collection and transmitting of the weekly container information to Port Services
• Assist customers who are consolidating LCL cargo
• Liaise closely with Tropical Miami Warehouse Team for consolidations and shipment of LCL cargo when necessary
• Support System (Back-up
• Monitor office supplies and replenish when necessary
• Take full responsibility for self-development including technical, self-management and any area related to the improvement of your overall performance and productivity
• Foster good team spirit at all times
• Fulfill all other duties assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• Two (2) or more years accounting experience
• Two (2) or more years customer service experience
• High school diploma required, college courses in Accounting preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/ general ledger systems and procedures.
• Must be able to follow standard filing procedures
• Must be detail-oriented, reliable, with a professional attitude
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be a team player and works well with others
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to type 55-60 words per minute
• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to speak and write English fluently
• The ability to work independently and with a team in a fast paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
