A vacancy exists for a field-based Construction Site Manager to work on multi-unit or large high-end residential and commercial projects in Grenada. The successful candidate would be responsible for multiple structures simultaneously. The Manager’s skills, experience and quality of work is expected to ensure that Isla Construction maintains its excellent reputation.
Key responsibilities would include:-
1. Assign, monitor and evaluate the work of project teams and sub-contractors to meet scheduled deliverables
and time frames.
2. Control costs through efficient planning and implementation of project schedule.
3. Ensure safety and cleanliness of all sites.
4. Act as the on-site point of contact, often interfacing with the Client, technical professionals, and the public.
5. Make site-level decisions.
6. Oversee site works from planning through handover.
7. Contribute to the development and adherence to standards and methodologies.
The preferred candidate will meet or exceed the following minimum requirements:-
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management plus five (5) years’ work experience supervising multiunit construction projects OR
• Secondary school certificate or Associate’s degree in Building Technology plus ten (10) years’ experience supervising multi-unit construction projects
• Proven success in supervising construction crews of 3 – 40 workers including internal staff and subcontractors, to achieve project deliverables
• Working knowledge of all skills in the construction trade, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and masonry work
• Competence in a variety of computer software including AutoCAD, MS Word, and MS Excel
• Meticulous and detail oriented
• Excellent communication skills
• Valid Driver’s licence eligible to drive pickup trucks and at least 3 years’ continuous driving experience
• Willingness to work in Grenada
