The Overseas Examinations Commission seeks to hire a suitably qualified person to fill the following position:

Accountant

Qualification and experience:

• ACCA Level 1 qualification, OR
• Minimum of CAT Level 11 qualification.
• A minimum of five (5) CSEC/GCE subjects including Mathematics, Principles of Accounts and English.

Specific Knowledge, Competencies and Experience:

• At least two years' wording experience
• Good Knowledge of computer applications with specific reference to ACCPAC/ SAGE Accounting Software
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Suite
• Good Oral and Written Communication Skills
• Good Interpersonal skills
• Customer-focused
• Excellent Supervisory skills
• Must be confidential and possess a high level of initiative and integrity.
• Good track record for meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Checks claims and invoice presented for payment and submits for approval
• Prepares monthly journal entries required for non-banking transactions for approval of Director, Finance and Accounts.
• Prepares Audit Schedules.
• Checks lodgements prepared by the Cashier for completeness and accuracy on a daily basis.
• Prepares monthly Financial Statements.
• Supervises Cashier and Accounts Payable Clerk
