About the Position:
This position is located at the Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center, Primary Care, Fort Meade, Maryland. Fort Meade, MD consists of 5,415 acres with 65.5 miles of paved roads, 3.3 miles of secondary roads, and about 1,300 buildings. There is a modern exchange mall, bank, credit union, post office, chapels and many other facilities. Ft Meade's climate is warm during summer when temperatures tend to be in the 70's, and very cold during winter when temperatures tend to be in the 30's. Duties
- Maintain custody of the outpatient medical records
- Receive walk-in patients, being alert to emergency medical situations that may require immediate attention
- Provide information and answer technical questions about medical records without compromising patient confidentiality
- Review medical records to verify completeness, conformity with requlations and requirements
- File all paperwork pertinent to the patient's medical care into the medical records, identifying laboratory reports, x-rays, consultation reports and other medical documents received
- Uses automated systems/equipment as required, such as Composite Health Component System (CHCS), Medical Record Tracking (MRT), Medical Record Tracking, Retirement and Retrieval (MRTR2), etc., in the performance of duties
- Determines patient eligibility
- Responsible for in/out processing of patients
