This position is located in the Department of Physical Education and Athletics, Office of the Academic Dean, United States Merchant Marine Academy, Maritime Administration. This position is established to provide assistance in support of the Department's operations, purchase requisition, staff/team travel, and financial/business administrative transactions.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, detail oriented and organized professional possessing the ability to manage and communicate technical information. The ideal candidate will have experience and skills providing financial management, clerical support and a variety of functions to include procurement of goods and service, budgetary entry and maintenance of financial records, and management of the travel process.

Duties
As a Financial Management Clerk, you will:
- Assist with processing and securing supply and service orders (e.g. transcribe orders, budget entry, approval submission, acquisition of goods, and receiving verification).
- Perform support classification and review of department purchase card statement.
- Assist with the management of department travel program and travel budget; securing travel arrangements for team movement; invitational travel write-up and submission; maintain travel files.
- Assist with the maintenance of all financial records for the department and data entry of financial information.
- Perform a variety of duties related to automation of information for an organization having several distinct subject matter areas and integration of these information areas into a network whereby the organization has control, access, and management capabilities for the information database.
