Joint Employer Final Rule

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) will be issuing the Final Rule on joint-employers today which will be effective April 27, 2020. This impacts those covered by the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) in determining whether a business is considered a joint employer of employees directly employed by another business. The Final Rule specifies that for businesses to be considered joint employers the two must share or codetermine the employees’ essential terms and conditions of employment.
