Accounting Clerk (Montego Bay, Jamaica) - Whitter Group of Companies

The Whitter Group of Companies in Montego Bay is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Accounting Clerk.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate must have sound knowledge of accounting principles, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to operate efficiently in a fast paced environment.

Core duties include:

• Performing general accounting duties, e.g. booking general ledger entries, journal entries
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts
• Preparing audit schedules
• Preparing customer invoices and ensure distribution in a timely manner
• Preparing customer statements and monitor accounts receivables
• Posting bank account transactions
• Bank account reconciliation
• Timely preparation of monthly statutory returns for filing
• Assisting in maintaining fixed asset register
• Assisting in preparation of monthly financial reports including cash flow projections and operating budgets

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Sound knowledge of Accounting principles and applications
• Working knowledge and experience in using QuickBooks software and applications
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Self-motivated and a team player

Qualifications and Experience:

• At minimum first degree in Accounting or equivalent qualifications from an accredited institution
• Three (3) years continuous prior working experience in accounting
