LASCO Distributors Limited, a marketing and distribution company within LASCO Affiliated Companies, seeks the service of suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following positions:

Inventory Officer

Key Initiatives:

Our objective is to establish and promote measures that will enable the compnay to adequately safeguard and account for its assets and comply with all applicable inventory control regulations and procedures.

This involves coordinating the annual physical inventory; recording acquisitions,deletions and other changes into the oracle management system in a timely anmd appropriate manner; managing the transfer and disposition of all inventory items; and providing accurate costing reports for the company. 

Core Responsibilities:

• Generate reports related to inventory adjustments, transfers and write-off and forward to Inventory Controller/Cost Accountant for appraisal
• Check and monitor approved inventory movements via Oracle
• Review inventory movements and aid in reconciliation of inventory transactions
• Verification and removal of expiries from the system
• Checks to ensure that allinter-org transfers for Roche Diagnostics are entered in the system accurately and efficiently
• Conduct daily checksto ensure that stock transfers between various inventory codes on request are done accurately and efficiently; after entry is carried out by warehouse personnel
• Conduct checks on all inventory returns on a daily basis to ensure that the correct products and quantities are recorded in the system, after credit notes is processed by customer service and updated by warehouse
• Conduct random checks on the receival/truck loading processes and record inconsistencies identified
• Check and reconcile all the receival of items into inventory by the warehouse personnel on a daily basis
• Conduct daily checks and analysis on the sales and margin reports for RDG and RX/Consumer Division and forward to the respective personnel

Qualifications and Experience:

• Completion of AAT level III or CAT with 1 to 3 years inventory and accounting experience or 
• ACCA level II with up to 2 years inventory and accounting experience or
• UTECH /UWI Diploma in Accounting with up to 2years work experience

Skills:

• Basic knowledge of Financial Accounting procedures and standards
• Be currently pursuing an accounting course/degree/diploma
• Good knowledge of Oracle and Excel spreadsheet applications
• Technically competent in analysis and reconciliations of inventory and accounting
• Oral and written communication skills
