Montego Bay Community College invites applicants for the following vacant posts:

Administrative Assistant - Registry Department (clear vacancy)

The successful applicant should have:
  • Four (4) CXCs or GCEs
  • An associate degree in Business/Business Administration would be an asset
  • At least two (2) years experience as an Administrative Assistant
Should possess knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Word and Excel
  • Records Management
  • Student Management System (SMS)
Key competencies:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Time management
  • Flexible, reliable and dependable
Internal Auditor - Full-time (Contract)

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Auditing certification (ACCA or CAP)
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in a similar capacity 
  • Experience of financial and IT auditing
Key competencies:
  • Knowledge of organizational structures, risk management and internal controls
  • Comprehensive knowledge of government procurement guidelines
  •  and the FAA Act
  • Excellent technical and computer skills
  • Sound knowledge of auditing techniques, policies and practices
  • Detail oriented
  • Works effectively both independently or as a team
  • Sound analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Excellent communication, organization and reporting skills

Maintenance Officer (clear vacancy)
The succesful applicant should have:
  • NVQJ in Plumbing, Electrical Installation, Carpentry or similar qualifications
  • Three (3) CXCs or GCE subjects
  • Secondary eduction
  • A minimum of two (2) years in a similar position
Key competencies:
  • Knowledge of general maintenance of a plant
  • Proper use of chemicals
  • Knowledgeable of safety measures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility, dependability and reliability
Administrative Assistant - Human Resource Department (Temporary)

The ideal candidate should have:
  • Four (4) CXCs or GCEs including English Language
  • An associate degree in Human Resource Management would be an asset
  • A minimum of two (2) years in a similar position
Key competencies:
  • Excellent people skills (very sociable)
  • Team player
  • Excellent computer and data entry skills
  • Basic knowledge of HR policies and practices
  • Training in or certification in events planning would be an asset
Laboratory Technician

The ideal candidate should have
  • Four (4) CXCs or GCEs
  • Associate degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) would be an asset
Key competencies:
  • Qick learner
  • Time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of hardware and software applications
  • Flexible and reliable
  • Able to work successfully in a team as well as individually
