Job Description

Join the award-winning Toronto Public Service as Labourer 3 (Student) within our Solid Waste Management Services Division. Major Responsibilities: Picks up, clears and/or disposes of litter, including but not limited to streets, laneways and walkways, including loose garbage, such as the removal of illegal notices, signs and posters. Assist with cleanup for special events, such as parades, street closures. Key Qualifications: Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to: Must be registered, and maintain registration, as a full time student at a recognized and accredited educational institution. (Written documentation will be required) You must also: Be able to work in all weather conditions. Be available to work rotating shifts, afternoons and weekends. Be capable of understanding the Occupational Health and Safety Act, its regulations and training Be physically capable of performing required duties Be able to do shift work as required, in accordance with the Collective Agreement. Be able to deal courteously with the public This is a non-driving position and the term of employment will commence no earlier than May 1 and end no later than August 31.  Any individual hired must comply with the Labourer 3/Student process as outlined in the CUPE Local 416 Collective Agreement.
