Accounting Clerk (Kingston, Jamaica) - National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA)

The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Accounting Clerk. The Accounting Clerk reports directly to the Accountant at the Authority, and works in close collaboration with the Senior Accounting Clerk as well as other staff members within the department.

The Accounting Clerk is accountable for maintaining all data entry output files accordingly and for the processing and printing of reports, the maintenance of general ledger reports and the closing off of moduels to the general ledger periodically, as required.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Five (5) GCE 'O' levels including English Language and Principles of Accounts
• AAT level 2
• At least one (1) year working experience in an accounting environment 
• Knowledge of QuickBooks, Smartpay and Microsoft Office Suite 

Specifications:

• Well-developed communication skills, both orally and in written form
• Conscientious, detailed and thorough in the approach to work
• Ability to communicate effectively at all level
• Maintain simple logs and records
