Court Clerk Court Clerk 13 Salary $24.56 - $27.80 hourly plus $0.56 hourly Isolation Allowance (Work location alternates between Fort St. James and Vanderhoof) An eligibility list may be established This position is an Auxiliary "As and When" initially scheduled to end in 2 years, however it will most likely be extended A unique opportunity to contribute to the administration of justice in a challenging legal environment! The Court Services Branch is responsible for the delivery of all court administration services in BC, including registry, trial support and Sheriff Services. The Registry provides the infrastructure to support the justice system and processes documents that are required by the court to ensure timely and effective processing of court cases. Flexibility and organization is key in this role as you provide numerous administrative services to the Court and Registry. The Court Clerk documents court proceedings; exercises control of exhibits; assists and briefs judges; and provides technical assistance for registry staff. Interacting with members of the public, the bar and the judiciary, you will be responsible for pre- and in-court duties including managing, distributing, completing and interpreting court documents and files and reviewing them for accuracy. A highly professional, discreet and experienced administrator, you will enjoy the challenge and the reward of ensuring the protection of the public in British Columbia. Skilled in client service, you are professional when dealing with the public and difficult clients. You will gain extensive experience in interacting with the judiciary, members of the legal profession, and justice system partners. You have a good grounding in office administration and possess the flexibility required to be a good Court Clerk. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who exemplify the corporate values of the BC Public Service to join our team as Court Clerks. Fort St. James is a beautiful community that sits next to Stuart Lake, with water-skiing and fresh-water fishing excursions available. Snowboarding and downhill skiing are popular, as well as cross-country skiing just north of town at Murray Ridge. Fort.
