What you will gain
The goal of this project is to offer a learning experience in the work place within the Public Service to students who will not obtain a high school diploma due to a disability. This project will help their transition into the work force by offering structured work assignments that will enable you to:
• develop good work habits
• develop autonomy in the work place
• acquire essential skills for the workplace
• explore your interests
• learn about career opportunities in the federal public service
• work in a bilingual environment

What you will do
Duties will vary based on the hiring organization but the objective is to provide a meaningful work experience.
Duration: 3 to 6 hours a week from February 5 to June 11, 2018
Note 1: If the applicable provincial or territorial minimum wage amount is higher than the current maximum offered for the corresponding academic level of the student, the provincial or territorial minimum wage rate is to be applied.

What we are looking for
In order to be eligible, you must:
• be between the ages of 16 and 21
• have a social insurance number
• be registered in a Canadian high school with an Individual Education Pan (IEP) and accompanied at school by a bilingual (English and French) Educational Assistant (EA)
• not be able to obtain a high school diploma because of a disability
• have the potential to be autonomous in completing the tasks required in the workplace
• be accompanied by an Educational Assistant (EA) in the workplace at all times.
Note 2 : Preference is given to Canadian citizens who meet the job requirements.
