Duties

Duties:
• Assist with designing promotional products (including posters, brochures, and web graphics) for Parks Canada programs and events
• Assist with updating and developing educational and promotional materials for the Parks Canada Winnipeg Outreach team (including posters, postcards, buttons and magnets)
• Assist with branding and designing materials for Parks Canada special events

Work environment

The Graphic Design Assistant is based out of Parks Canada’s Winnipeg office and will report to the Manitoba Field Unit Promotions Officer. This position will primarily work to produce various products for print, web and social media. The Manitoba Field Unit represents seven sites across the province including The Forks National Historic Site, Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site, Riel House National Historic Site, St. Andrew’s Rectory National Historic Site, Wapusk National Park, Prince of Wales Fort National Historic Site, and York Factory National Historic Site.

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Experience in layout for brochures, books, posters, or other materials for print and web

Conditions of employment

All selected candidates must:
• Obtain and maintain a Reliability Status Security Clearance
• Be in possession of a valid class 5 driver’s licence
• Be able to work in inclement weather when required
• Wear a uniform as per Parks Canada Uniform Policy and prescribed protective equipment
• Work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial holidays, when required
