Inventory & Quality Control Officer (Kingston, Jamaica) - ODPEM

The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) is seeking to fill the position of:  Inventory and Quality Control Officer - Fixed Term Contract (One (1) year).

The Inventory and Quality Control Officer, reporting to the Business Development Officer, will support the Rental Business by providing adequate supervision for the external contractors to ensure that the products are maintained at the required standard, that accountability measures are adhered to, and customer service standards are maintained. More specifically, the incumbent will be required to:

• Be responsible for the timely and accurate issue and dispatch and retrieval of rental items
• Ensure that all rental are properly stored and maintained
• Report any damage and/or shortages of items and recommend replenishing of items in keeping with the needs of the unit
• Conduct scheduled inventory counts and produce the required reports
• Provide supervision to the rental team to ensure efficiency and productivity
• Conduct pre-delivery site visits as required
• Maintain database of contractors to meet business needs
• Prepare invoices for payment

Required Skills/Education:

• Four (4) CXC subjects including English Language and Mathematics or Accounts
• Certificate in Inventory Management or Supply Chain Management
• A certificate in Accounting or equivalent would be an asset

Specialized Techniques/Knowledge

• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Proficiency in the use of Inventory Management/Logistics applications

Required Experience:

• At least two (2) years experience in Inventory Management, Accounting or Logistics and Supply Chain Management
• Experience in collections of receivables
