As an Enforcement and Removal Assistant (Office Automation), you will:
Research detainee history using multiple sources to establish identity/citizenship and manage detained and non-detained dockets;
Provide administrative support to managers, supervisors or staff members by assisting in the day-to-day management of the office's activities;
Summarize and tabulate detainee information from various reports, utilizing a variety of databases and automated systems;
Generate and verify detainer reports, encounters, charging documents, studies, data quality and create and revise spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and presentations; and
Ability to pass drug screen for federal employment

Requirements: Requirements by Closing Date: You must meet all requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
GS-05:You must meet one of the following to qualify at the GS-05 grade level: Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level performing duties such as: performing a variety of recordkeeping, reporting, and informational duties; compiling, maintaining, and updating automated records; and responding to requests for procedural information. Substitution of Education for Experience: Four years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. Combining Education and Experience: Successfully completed post-high school education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e. beyond the second year) and specialized experience as described in the vacancy announcement, that when combined, equal 100% of the total requirement. Typing Proficiency: In addition to the above minimum qualification requirements, applicants must be able to type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample, with three or fewer errors. You may self-certify your proficiency in the Occupational Questionnaire. National Service Experience (i.e. volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
