These are Full-Time TERM positions. Appointment to this/these positions will not convey permanent status in the Federal service and will be for a period not to exceed thirteen months, with possible extensions up to a total of four years without further competition.

Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.

Duties

Incumbent will assist Mason in the maintenance, repairs, and construction of masonry structures, surfaces and job assignments. Perform minor repair or construction in structures and surface of bricks, blocks, stone and other material. Perform removal of damaged portions of wall, partitions or other small structures in preparation of repairs or damage. Lay a variety of bricks, blocks and stone. Mix mortar so that it will have a proven consistency and shall stabilize both brick and stone over a long period of time.

Assist the Mason in the erection of the scaffold and the placing and use of various lengths of ladders. Incumbent must be capable of handling bob hand and power tools, manual and power equipment that will provide a successful conclusion to the project assigned. Follow safety procedures, rules and regulations for each task undertaken and must use safety equipment when performing his duties. Perform minor jobs such as garbage collection, grounds upkeep, cleaning of buildings, painting, and other jobs minor to his position as mason helper. Incumbent must be able to lift 90 pounds. Operate a motor vehicle incidental to other duties. Incumbent must have the ability to utilize a personal computer to perform basic computer functions that are required to execute routine employee responsibilities.

• You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties. Prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year thereafter (or more frequently if management determines such need exists), you will be required to sign an affidavit certifying to your possession of a valid State issued driver's license that is current and has not been revoked, suspended, canceled, or otherwise disqualified in any way to prohibit your operation of a motor vehicle. You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists. Lastly, you may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you. Please indicate in your application whether you possess a valid State driver's license.
• Occupancy of government quarters is NOT available.
• You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
• You may be required to work occasional overtime.
• You will be required to complete a one-year trial period.
