This announcement is for a Regular Part Time, NA-07 Maintenance Worker (Motor Vehicle Operator) with Fort Leavenworth's Child and Youth Services (CYS). CYS prides itself in providing quality childcare, outstanding school age care, exciting child & youth enrichment programming, fun and challenging sports opportunities and exceptional instructional programming for all CYS families. Applicants for this announcement may be scheduled to work within any of Fort Leavenworth's CYSS facilities. Facilities include two Child Development Centers (6 weeks to 5 years), a School Age Centers (1st - 5th grades), a Youth/Teen Center (6th grade through 18 years), Parent Central and Outreach Services, and the SKIES Program.

Duties
Major Duties include, yet are not limited to:
- Maintenance and minor repair of building, playground equipment, toys, and other equipment, prepares and submits work orders for repairs requiring additional expertise.
- Conducts and documents daily safety inspections of the facility and grounds; conducting minor ground maintenance, to include, but not limited to minor gardening, removal of ice/snow, ensuring entrances/exits are free from debris, monitoring sidewalks for clear walking paths. Follows proper procedure for equipment and materials in need of disposal.
- Drives government provided vehicle to pick up and deliver supplies and food from the original source to the facility; in the absence of dedicated kitchen personnel, incumbent will deliver and serve light meals/snacks.
- Drives government provided bus (71 passenger) and/or 15-24 passenger vans to transport children/youth on field trips, to/from school, or accompanies children walking to school; during periods when students are out of school, ensures safe passage to and from field trip locations.
- Ensures risk management procedures are followed.
