The U.S. Army School of Music trains and educates Soldiers serving as Army Musicians and their leaders; designs, develops and implements training; integrates unit capabilities, concepts and doctrine in order to build Army bands that are versatile and adaptable in Unified Land Operations.
Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek - Fort Story is the country's premier installation for housing and training the nation's Expeditionary Forces. The Joint Expeditionary Base is comprised of the former Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek and the Army Post, Fort Story. Fort Story witnessed the humble beginnings of our country at the 1607 first landing site. Little Creek began as a dynamic training ground for World War II amphibious forces. Together they comprise the crown jewel of America's military bases. The US Army School of Music is located on the Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek.

- Current US Army Training and Doctrine Command, School of Music employees with competitive status
- Current Department of Army Civilian Employees
Duties
- Maintains and tracks civilian personnel actions including: position descriptions, performance standards, performance evaluations, and monetary/honorary awards.
- Serves as Organizational Defense Travel Administrator (ODTA) and is responsible for the overall travel system for the organization.
- Prepares correspondence covering subject of an administrative nature, both internal and external.
- Accurately and promptly transmits and receives documents and messages electronically using PCs or workstations.
