Assistant Librarian

The Assistant Librarian will facilitate and support the archiving and digitising of multimedia files and activities as assigned.

Position requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Studies, Information Studies, Archival Studies or related field required.
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in cataloguing/metadata management.

Candidates should:

• Be flexible and possess the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Possess organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner
• Have the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
• Possess strong attention to details skills
• Ability to provide high levels of service to targeted client/customer base
• Ability to take initiative, multi-task, work independently and work well under pressure

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Collaborate in the selection, design and adaption of Metadata Schema, controlled vocabularies and authority files
• Assure copyright/licensing compliance for respective license agreements
• Play a key role in collecting, organizing and making available, accessible digital resources relating to the creative assets and history of the organization
• Develop, maintain and provide enhancements to digital library applications and policies to ensure effective  delivery of library digital resources and services.
