Become a part of the Army's Global Veterinary Medical Practice (GVMP) – A challenging yet rewarding employment opportunity!  The GVMP operates veterinary treatment facilities (VTFs) on most military installations for the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force.  Your work will be dedicated to pet health within the military community and in support of the United States Army Medical Command.  Animal Health is an integral part of the Army's public health mission and touches the lives of Department of Defense (DoD) personnel, military members, and their families.
GVMP employees work closely with both Military Veterinary Medical Officers and civilian Veterinarians to provide quality healthcare to privately owned animals and deliver the highest level of customer service while adhering to federal and state guidelines and regulations.  Due to this organization's unique mission, GVMP relies heavily on a motivated and dedicated workforce.  We strive to deliver quality care by placing importance on maintaining a diverse team of multi-disciplinary professionals.

Provides full client services for an animal clinic. Receives telephone calls and visitors to the clinic, determines the nature of call or visit, obtains identifying information, and verifies the patient's eligibility for treatment. Schedules appointments, completes the client admission forms. Updates the existing medical file or collects sufficient information to prepare new file. Provides concise accurate information to veterinary care provider on nature of the visit.

Duties

Provides full client services for animal veterinary clinic. Receives telephone calls and visitors to the clinic, determines the nature of call or visit, obtains identifying information, and verifies the patient's eligibility for treatment. Schedules appointments, completes the client admission forms. Updates the existing medical record or collects sufficient information to prepare new record. Provides concise accurate information to veterinary care provider on nature of the visit. Screens records at check in to verify all routine procedures such as vaccinations, heartworm tests, etc. are up-to-date.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ability to communicate orally and deal effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.

Basic computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Suite or equivalent, ability to use point of sales software.
Basic arithmetic expertise to balance cash draw, accept payments and provide change accurately.  Typing proficiency – 40WPM.

Physical effort (preferable): Ability to lift 40 lbs and long periods of standing, restraining, kneeling, reaching and sitting, etc.

Conditions of Employment:
